Last week I received an email from author Hannah McKay, introducing us to her book Tahosa Treasure and asking whether we might want to review it. Since the book is written for kids, not adults, I asked my 10-year-old daughter if she'd like to read and review the book, and she jumped at the chance. (Of course as a homeschool mom I'm thinking this is an excellent opportunity for her to learn how to write a book review, but Joely didn't have to know that!)
Joely was very eager to read the book, so it took her only two days to finish it. Here is what she thought:
The book Tahosa Treasure By Hannah Mckay and Jeff Roth is about three boys who go on a little adventure. They have many near-death experiences and find hidden treasure, gold, and an old Spanish soldier skeleton as they travel deep into a mountain. But they don't know they were followed by a stranger that wants their treasure. They travel inside the mountain and learn to survive in darkness with God's help.
In Tahosa Treasure I learned a few things about the Spanish soldiers that lived in the past. I learned about gold and dagger blades. The book taught me to be prepared for anything that might come my way, expected or unexpected. I found out that I should tell my parents the whole truth. I think the biggest thing the book taught me was that in every situation I need to trust God with my heart, mind, and soul.
I really enjoyed Tahosa Treasure. It was filled with action and adventure and that is exactly what kids want these days. It is filled with the teaching of God and that's what kids need. I can't wait for the next adventure of the trio!
Obviously Joely enjoyed the book, and she thinks your kids might like it too.

I loved reading this, but honestly it wasn't just for the review. I have a just turned 11 year old who loves to read. She is just now starting to discover series and right now she is liking the Princess Academy ones. There are only two books out, she got the first one a few years ago and we just got her the second one about 2 weeks ago. She re-read the first one to then read the second…she was done in less than a week! π
I am a Facebook follower π
I'm an email subscriber (but it's a different email from the one i'm using here…hope that doesn't conflict!)
I've liked the authors page through both my personal facebook and blog facebook page. π
