The Puzzle Cabinet…CONQUERED!

CTC (conquering the clutter) project 2 fearfully started and successfully completed.

I finally tackled the dreaded puzzle/craft/catch-all cabinet in my kitchen.

Since we had a garage sale last weekend, I emptied out the cabinet and set aside all those puzzles I wanted to sell in the garage sale. Here are the stacks of puzzles we put in our garage sale (only a few didn't sell believe it or not).

Here is the sum total of what I did decide to keep of the original contents of the cabinet. I actually moved the few that were left to the top of the bookshelves in our bedroom—still accessible, but out of the way—freeing up the kitchen cabinet for what it should have been used for in the first place…kitchen stuff!

So here's the empty cabinet, just waiting to be filled up with bowls and pots and pans that were currently overfilling other kitchen cabinets.

Look at all that space! I can actually reach my mixing bowls now without starting an avalanche of stainless steel!

And while I was into conquering the clutter, I decided to rearrange my pots and pans cabinet, which was also in serious need of some organization. It doesn't help that my 10-year-old son, who usually unloads the dishwasher, pays no heed to any type of organization when he puts pots and pans away. But then again, I don't claim innocence either. It was just one horrendous mess. And don't even ask me how we ever found matching lids!

But, ahhh! The pleasure of organization. I can feel my blood pressure lower even as I type this. Why didn't I do this months ago?

Conquering the clutter made my life easier and my kitchen more friendly. It can work for you!

Looks amazing–it always floors me how educational and craft materials can spawn and take over cabinets and closets! And you're right–doesn't it feel nice to have it cleared out–maybe I should go get started on some of ours!

    Blessings!
