Last week I received an email from author Hannah McKay, introducing us to her book Tahosa Treasure and asking whether we might want to review it. Since the book is written for kids, not adults, I asked my 10-year-old daughter if she'd like to read and review the book, and she jumped at the chance. (Of course as a homeschool mom I'm thinking this is an excellent opportunity for her to learn how to write a book review, but Joely didn't have to know that!)
Joely was very eager to read the book, so it took her only two days to finish it. Here is what she thought:
The book Tahosa Treasure By Hannah Mckay and Jeff Roth is about three boys who go on a little adventure. They have many near-death experiences and find hidden treasure, gold, and an old Spanish soldier skeleton as they travel deep into a mountain. But they don't know they were followed by a stranger that wants their treasure. They travel inside the mountain and learn to survive in darkness with God's help.
In Tahosa Treasure I learned a few things about the Spanish soldiers that lived in the past. I learned about gold and dagger blades. The book taught me to be prepared for anything that might come my way, expected or unexpected. I found out that I should tell my parents the whole truth. I think the biggest thing the book taught me was that in every situation I need to trust God with my heart, mind, and soul.
I really enjoyed Tahosa Treasure. It was filled with action and adventure and that is exactly what kids want these days. It is filled with the teaching of God and that's what kids need. I can't wait for the next adventure of the trio!
Obviously Joely enjoyed the book, and she thinks your kids might like it too.

Sounds like a good book; I am really into metalworking, gems, and precious metals, and I take every opportunity to find out more about them; especially in the context of a story. Sure hope I win the giveaway!
I thought I had you on my facebook but upon checking I hadn't yet! That is a done deal. I am subscribed to your blog thru email.
We went onto the author's page and liked it as well. These are the types of books that I love to read to my sons while they are coloring or taking a bath. They love chapter books like this and I love to read to them.
We have read all of the Little House books, CS Lewis series and books and many other series. Our oldest son has Aspergers and really likes series because he likes the comfort of repeat characters.
We signed up to follow them and get the newsletter. Thank you!
My daughter reads like its going out of style. It is really hard to find books that have good morals let alone ones with a Christian perspective. This sounds like a book she would like and I would approve of.
My son is a fan of the Sugar Creek Gang and the Hardy Boys. My daughter likes anything horses, but hasn't really settled on one serious.

My son has been reading the Kingdom Series by Chuck Black, and my daughter likes the Circle C Beginnings by Susan K. Marlow.

My 7-year old daughter loved The Chronicles of Narnia (with the exception of the Horse and His Boy). She is now reading the Harry Potter series and loving it too.

My oldest is 5, so I'm excited to see what stories she will hold near and dear to her heart. My favorite is The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
