Lunch challenge day for switched with day five. Menu planning in our house is flexible due to circumstances.
I haven't made it to the grocery store all week, so my originally-planned lunch of homemade pizza "Lunchables" wasn't possible today. Instead I made the deli tortilla wraps that were on the menu for Friday. We brown-bagged our lunch since we had to stay after Music Camp for the kids to go through their lines for Sunday's performance.
I have to say that although the girls ate their deli wraps (Jaden ate a few too many chocolate chip cookies at Music Camp before lunch, so he wasn't hungry at lunchtime…surprise, surprise), I didn't get any rave reviews. However, I can't complain too much because the girls finished everything they ate, which doesn't always happen. But I think if I make these again, I need to use some better/different ingredients or something. All I used was what I had on-hand, so the wraps were basically deli turkey; Miracle Whip, cream cheese or mustard; and shredded mozarella cheese. Not surprising that they weren't terribly tummy-tempting.
Now I have to figure out what in the world to fix for tomorrow. But if I'm going to be honest (which I usually like to do) for lunch tomorrow I'm probably going to just drive through Sonic for their $1 menu since I have to go into town to pick up supplies for a sewing workshop on Saturday. I'll be crunched for time in between Music Camp and my afternoon piano lessons, so that's probably going to be my best solution.
So it's not going to be much of a lunch challenge for Friday, but at least the kids will get fed.
I'm sure Amanda's lunch turned out much better than mind today, so head on over there and check it out. Don't forget, we'll be posting a Mr. Linky on Monday so you can link up your lunch recipes (obviously I could use some better lunch recipes!). Also, if you have breakfast recipes you'd like to share, you can link up to our breakfast challenge summary here.

Oh to be able to drive through Sonic! We now have one that's "close" (about 1.5 hour away!). There's no judgment here on the Sonic! I hope you enjoy it!
