Show and Tell Reading-Phonics Lesson Goes Video

We decided to change up Joely's reading/phonics lesson today and video recorded her reading a Bob book as a kind of Show and Tell. Joely, I think, has hit a big milestone this week in that she is suddenly sounding out words less and less and is reading with more fluency. Way to go, Joely! (Don't you just love the flexibility we have in homeschooling!)

Check out Canadagirl's Blog for more Show and Tells.

That was awesome Joely! You did a fantastic job, especially since you were reading upside down! I have a hard time with that. Keep reading and reading! 🙂

Joy, you're right about her fluency. She did a fantastic job. Wow, you really should thank her teacher.

Wow- great job Joely, you are quite a reader!

Joy- what a great idea to motivate kids to read aloud… my kids love to see themselves on video, they don't like to read aloud … maybe we can meet in the middle on this one! Thanks for the idea!

Joely is a very talented reader—she can read upside down, too! I found your video a fantastic idea, and I may try that with my grandsons this fall when I help my DD teach them to read.

Good job Joely. You are getting to be a really big girl. I sure wish we could visit you. You have such talented parents. Joy, wouldn't it be fun to have our two families get together like we used to? Maybe one day!
