Hail Kate, Giver of Delicious Cinnamon Roll Recipes!

I made cinnamon rolls this morning using a recipe Kate at A Simple Walk emailed me, and they turned out soooooo good! If you missed the cinnamon roll recipe in my post earlier this week, I've posted it here again for your palate's pleasure. Thank you, Kate!

I'd like to say that these cinnamon rolls are healthy for you…

Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1 T yeast
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 T dry milk powder
  • 4 cups white flour

ICING:

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 oz. cream cheese
  • 2 T water
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Mix all ingredients together, but don’t add all flour at once, add slowly. Knead into a ball, divide into 2 pieces. Roll out both pieces into large rectangles and spread with: 1/4 c. softened butter, 1 C. brown sugar and 3 T. cinnamon. Roll up and cut into rounds. Bake at 400 for 10-15 minutes or so. Drizzle with the icing.

Oh I'm so glad you liked them! They look sp delicious. Great job Joy.

We had them this morning too! I actually used one of frozen doughs. The dough froze perfectly (and thawed in about 10 hrs). It was so easy to just roll it out and spread on all the good stuff this morning. It took less than 10 minutes to get them in the oven.

Now the only problem…they are SOOO hard to stop eating!

I have a question for you. I read lots of recipes that include dry milk powder…and I don't buy this, so can I use regular milk for a substitute? What else can I do?

    Thanks,

    AmyR
