Free Online Backup for your Important Homeschool Documents

I use the computer a lot for homeschooling. I save ebooks, schedules and calendars I create, and so much more.

To complicate the issue, I have more than one computer that I use, so it's a pain to have to copy the file from one computer to the other to make any changes to it.

But it's not a problem any longer. I've been using Dropbox for quite a while now, and not only does it give me 2GB of free online backup of my files, but I can access the files from any computer, and the file is updated automatically on all the other computers. Talk about nice!

That only bad part about Dropbox I've found so far is that it offers just 2GB of free storage, and I do so much on the computer, that 2GB is not as big as it sounds.

But at least I can earn more free space by referring people to Dropbox!  (Like I'm doing right now. 🙂 )

So if you like free (and who doesn't?) and you have files on your computer that you don't want to lose, you should check out Dropbox. I think you'll be glad you did!

Awesome! When I'm ready to check it out, I'll use your link.
I'm curious: where do you store your photos online? Photobucket? Something else?

@Ginger, I don't have a great solution for backing up my photos…yet 🙁 I have way to many to store on a free account. I have a feeling I'm going to need to pay for online storage for those 🙁

I also have lots of homeschool documents, especially all the great free ebooks I find online! I did a search about 18 months ago for FREE Document Storage and found an awesome website called ADrive. It allows for 50GB of FREE storage!

    http://www.adrive.com/

Also, I found several options for photo storage and general computer back up. I wrote a blog post about it a few months ago:

I really like ADrive because of the amount of FREE storage and the ease of upload. It is also so much easier then carrying USB Drives around!

    Joy,
Thanks for that site! I just uploaded all of my homeschooling info I have saved to my laptop. The thing is, I cannot print from my laptop, only from one of the 4 computers….so it is always a frustration over here to print anything. Very easy site to work with as well. Time to add from the other computers…lol.
Kendra….I will check those out too!
    Many blessings,
    Cheryl

Thanks for all the great freebies. I would like to mention Windows Live Skydrive. Windows Live Skydrive is free and gives you 25GB of storage. http://windowslive.com/online/skydrive
