Download Audio Recordings of Public Domain Books

Free Audio Books

Free downloads of either full text books or audio recordings are available.

Many of you may already know that you can download the full text of over 20,000 public domain books on Gutenburg. But did you know you can download audio recordings of public domain books from LibriVox? I'm talking about authors like Austen, Alcott, Jack London, Kipling, and hundreds more.

This is a great way to have your kids "read" books on their own that are a little above their reading level. And it might save time as well; no more running to the library to check out an audiobook, and then having to wait for the one you want to become available. Plus, since the recording is in the public domain, you can download the audiobook to your MP3 player.
