Drawing Lessons in our Homeschool

My kids love to draw, so I've scheduled into our homeschooling day some drawing lessons.

Jaden is working through Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain (the workbook), and he and I have been extremely pleased with it so far. After only a week, I think his drawing has already improved. The girls are using two different books that include basically the same lessons: Joely is using Drawing Textbook by Bruce McIntyre, and Jerah is using Mark Kistler's Draw Squad. Joely has been having a blast drawing ellipses and turning them into cans, birthday cakes, and candles.

Earlier this evening I Stumbled Upon a wonderful drawing blog, appropriately named The Drawing Blog, that I think my kids will really enjoy reading. The blog owner, BreezyTulip, is a wonderful artist who writes very concise, easy-to-understand drawing lessons that my older kids will be able to benefit from. I love to draw as well, so I'm looking forward to visiting BreezyTulips site quite often.

Homeschool drawing lessons can add some fun to your homeschool curriculum.

    Hi there,

I happened over here looking for Golden Goblet resources, thanks for the vocab list by the way. I have seen the drawing blog as well and enjoy it very much as well. If you are interested, I also have an art blog with some lessons home school links. If you click over from the links to my art school site, the artist of the week tab has lots of fun info and links to learn more about artists and art history.
