BibMe: Online Bibliography and Works Cited Generator

Oh what I wouldn't have done for this free online Bibliographic generator when I was in school.

Remember having to write bibliographies for research papers when you were in school? It was fun, wasn't it?

Well, it hasn't gotten any easier, especially with the advent of the internet. Writing a research paper is difficult enough without having to stress over the proper way to write a bibliography entry.

And that is where BibMe comes in. BibMe is a free online bibliography generator that takes the headache out of creating a works cited page. Whether you need to cite a book, magazine, newspaper, website, film, or any other type of source, you are only seconds away from a perfectly formatted bibliography entry in MLA, APA, Chicago or Turabian formats. (Where was this when I was in school!?)

How to Create a Bibliography with BibMe

Creating your bibliography is simple. You can either enter the information into the fields manually, or use the autofill mode which does most of the work for you. With autofill, just search for the work you're citing by title, author, ISBN, or any other identifying word. When you find the one you want in the search results, click Select and your form fields will be filled in for you.

At that point you can edit the information as desired, adding chapter or page numbers as needed or any other information that is necessary.

If you register for a free BibMe account, you can save the bibliography to your account. Otherwise you can simply download it right then as a text file so you can add it to your document.

BibMe isn't the only bibliography generator on the web. But from what I researched, most others require a subscription to access some of the features you can get for free with BibMe.

In my opinion, BibMe is one of those sites every homeschooler should bookmark. My son Jaden will be starting high school officially next year, so this is definitely one source he will be using. I am sure this free online Bibliographic generator will be a blessing to him when doing his papers.

Have you used an online bibliography generator before?
