3 Moms, 3 Kitchens, 31 Days

31 day challenge

I'm fairly new to the blogging world, having begun this blog only 6 months ago, but in that time I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to peek into other people's homes to see how they live their lives. I'm learning something new every day, whether it be a great recipe, a frugal tip, a better way to organize my home, or any number of other helpful ideas.

So now it's my turn.

Two of my blogger friends and I are embarking on a new adventure for the month of May which we are calling "3 Moms, 3 Kitchens, 31 Days." For the month of May we'll be blogging in detail about our food budgets, shopping trips, recipes, and our personal food-related goals for the month.

I'm fairly new to the whole menu-planning idea, and I've never successfully stuck to a food budget, but my goal for May is to do both: plan meals (and actually make them) and stick to a budget of $450, which will include both groceries, paper products, and other household items. Although I haven't sat down and figured it up, prior to this month I've probably spend upwards of $600+ on groceries and household products, an amount that I can't afford to spend now that my husband and I are aggressively working toward getting out of debt.

The two great ladies who are joining me on this 31-day adventure are Toni, The Happy Housewife, and Kate at A Simple Walk. Toni is a homeschooling, military wife and mother of six children, ages 2 to 13. Her food budget for May is $600. Kate is a homeschooling, entrepreneurial mom of four children, ages 1 to 8. Her food budget for her family of six is $300.

Our kitchen doors are wide open, so come on in. We hope you enjoy our grand adventure!

I can't wait to see how your adventure progresses! I think this is a wonderful idea! I have attempted (many times) to set a meal plan and budget, but it has never stuck. Hopefully you ladies can motivate and teach me!

On a side note, I am a homeschooling mom as well. We are just finishing up our first year, a K-4 curriculum. I love all the wisdom, insight, and helpful tips that you provide! I'm excited for my daughter to get a little older so we can use some of your worksheets and life lessons! Thanks!
