The Reluctant Coffee Drinker

I'm not—nor have I ever been—a coffee drinker. If it's hot, drinkable, and in a cup, it had better be chocolate, my friend!

But my husband is trying to turn me into a coffee drinker. I guess he has this idea in his head that it would be fun to get up in the morning and down multiple cups of caffeine together (how romantic!). But so far, after trying a couple different kinds of coffee, I'm not convinced that I'll ever become a coffee drinker.

However, since I'm trying to please my husband in this quest endeavor of his, when I came across this free Starbucks offer, I ordered a sample. Never know, maybe Starbucks can get me to like coffee.

  1. Thanks for the link, Joy! I'm a former coffee drinker turned tea fanatic. I've got about 30 different types of teas in my pantry.

You may like Starbux but, they over roast their coffee and it usually tastes strong. I roast my own coffee at home, you can try coffee from all over the world. If you roast it yourself it is fresher and taste better. Coffee has all different kinds of taste some even tastes like chocolate.

Too funny – I don't like coffee either. I'm a hot chocolate gal too. Luckily for me I guess, my husband doesn't drink it either. He has gotten me addicted to Coca Cola though!

Just my two cents, and I know there's probably tons of people who disagree, but for ME, it's all in the creamer. I was never a big fan of coffee at home because, well, it tasted like coffee! But since I've started getting up early for my Quiet Time, I've HAD to have something hot to drink to keep me awake. So this is what I would do. I'd fill my mug about 1/2 full of coffee. Then I fill about another 1/4 of it with milk and the final 1/4 of it up with creamer. Like Coffeemate's Vanilla Carmel. Yumm! When I first started this, it was the holiday season and Coffeemate had their Peppermint Creamer out. THAT's what got me totally hooked on coffee at home! I wish they carried that all year long! Now, I skip the milk. It's a little more calories but I do 2/3 coffee to 1/3 creamer.

  5. Be sure you don't miss Coffee-mate's offer to get a free bottel. And on the Starbucks free sample – if you get a message that they are all out, try picking a different flavor!!!
