I had the opportunity to attend the Blissdom Conference in Nashville, TN earlier this month. Although it was a blogging conference, I've got to be honest and say that I didn't really go to learn about blogging. I went to meet people!
And meet people I did. Here are just a few of the great bloggers I had the chance to get to know a little better in Nashville.
- My roommates, Amy (Mom's Toolbox) and Toni (The Happy Housewife) — both of whom I've had the pleasure of meeting in real life on other occasions prior to Blissdom.
- Kimberly (Raising Olives), my third roomamte, who was such a joy to get to know (and who thankfully does not snore!)
- Lynn (Lynn's Kitchen Adventures), whose online friendship and patient mentoring concerning all things food has meant so much to me over the last year. (And whose crockpot baked beans and sausage my family enjoyed for lunch today.)
- FishMama (Life as Mom), who is such an amazing woman and so easy to talk to. It was like we'd know known each other for years! I am sad that we didn't have more time to spend together.
- The down-to-earth, even-nice-in-real-life Crystal (Monday Saving Mom), as well as her husband and adorable son, Silas.
- Amy (The Finer Things in Life), who was so easy to recognize because she looked exactly like her Twitter profile pic.
- The preggo-trio of Monica (Daily Dwelling), Connie (Smockity Frocks), and Phoebe (Getting Freedom), whose feet, I'm sure, where completely tired out after all that walking across the hotel.
- Liz (Hoosier Homemade), who makes the most amazing cupcakes (and I don't even like cake all that much!).
- Amy (With Purpose), who is so sweet, and who actually made me feel short at my 5ft 9.5in.
- Alyssa (Kingdom First Mom) and her sweet baby, both of whom I've had the pleasure of having lunch with on several occasions before Blissdom.
- Jen (Balancing Beauty and Bedlam), who is such a people person and has an amazing sense of frugal-fashionista style.
- Linda (Gluten Free Homemaker) who had the quietest and most conveniently-located hotel room of all of us (and yes, we were jealous, Linda).
- Kate (Cooking During Stolen Moments), my phenomenal-cook roommate from last year's Blissdom.
- Darcy (Graphically Designing), a fellow graphic/blog designer, with whom I had the chance to 'talk shop' in the hallway while we skipped one of the sessions.
- Some of my own past (and future) design clients: Rachel (Surviving the Stores), Stephanie (Couponing 101), Erin (Coupon Cravings), Angie (Many Little Blessings), Tiffany (Livings as Mom), and Tamara (The Unexperienced Mom).
- Myra (My Blessed Life), another design client and wonderful person, who generously gave me lots of my favorite food — chocolate!
- Erin ($5 Dinners) and her cutie-pie baby, Tyler. I met Erin briefly at last year's Blissdom, but I was able to spend a lot more time with her this time.
- Crystal (The Thrifty Mama), our amazing table leader at the Savvy Blogging Dinner.
- Stephanie (Keeper of the Home), whose blog I've been reading sporadically over the last year. She's such a genuine person, and I'm so glad I was able to chat at length with her after one of the sessions. As a result of that conversation (and with the help of her fabulous eBook), my pantry looks much different now than it did before Blissdom. (More to come on that later). Thanks so much, Stephanie!
