Menu Plan Monday: Week of May 19—SAFE meals

I managed to make all the meals I had planned for last week, so here's what I have on deck for this week. I realize my dinner choices are a little mundane, but I'm trying to branch out only a little bit at a time; I don't want to overwhelm myself with trying to make five brand new dinner recipes each week—I don't think I'd be able to handle that. I can just imagine me trying a new recipe, messing it up, and then trying yet another new recipe the next day, messing that up, too, and then ordering pizza for the family the next night because I'm so depressed! I'd like to plan for more successes, so I'm sticking with "safe" meals.

Hopefully by June I'll having gotten into more of a routine with my meal preparation so I'll feel more comfortable trying out more new recipes each week, but for now most of the meals I've planned for this week I've made before—they're "safe." This week's only new recipe is the potato soup.

Breakfasts: waffles, chocolate chip muffins, biscuits and gravy, sunshine toast, breakfast cookies, bananas, fruit smoothies

Lunches: pasta, sandwiches, mac n' cheese, grilled cheese, tomato soup, fruit smoothies, peaches, apples, bananas

Dinner: taco salad, potato soup, sandwiches, lasagna, chicken strips and potato wedges

Nothing wrong with "safe meals". When I do a new recipe, I make sure that the next day is a family favorite. That way I *know* that if they didn't eat the new recipe they definitely will eat the next night and then I don't get too depressed.

    Your menu sounds yummy!!

    Enjoy your week!

I have been enjoying reading the 3/3/3 series!
