Joely's Birthday Cupcake-Cake

I've mentioned before that I don't like to spend a lot of money on birthday parties, preferring to spend the money I would have spent more directly on my child. So for Joely's party, which she was finally able to have yesterday, I made a cupcake-cake for her. It was super-quick, super-easy (I am not a cake decorator), super-cheap, and ended up being a great hit with the kids.

Joely's already told me she wants her cupcake-cake in the shape of a seven next year, so I think I've started a family tradition!

Love this idea. I think I'll have to try it for birthdays at our house.
