Ironing…Redefined

Jaden and Jerah have both been responsible for ironing their own clothes for some time now. But unfortunately, I was not aware until today (when Jaden claimed to have just ironed a t-shirt that still looked as if it spent the last week year wadded up at the bottom of his backpack) what Jaden's definition of "ironing" was.

Jaden's definition

i • ron • ing n. the act of moving an iron (whether cool or hot) only once across the surface of a wrinkled piece of clothing. The actual removal of wrinkles is not required.

So I have now informed Jaden what my definition of ironing is.

The now-official "Miller" definition

i • ron • ing n. the complete, or nearly complete, removal of wrinkles from a wrinkled piece of clothing through the use of a well-heated iron. The actual removal of wrinkles is most definitely and assuredly required…or you have to iron it all over again.
