I gave birth to a five year old?

100_0775We attended a Christmas party after our choir's dress rehearsal this evening. The food was great, the fellowship was warm, and Joely was in top form as usual. After filling up her plate, Joely sat down on the couch, sidled up to the party's host, Ginger, and struck up a conversation.

"You know what?" she said seriously, "for the last 11 years I've been eating with my mouth open. But now I'm going to learn to eat with my mouth closed."

Profound, I know.

And at age six, technically impossible, too. But I won't bring that up.

Too cute! I wish my kids would eat with their mouths closed. Kids say the funniest things though. A couple of weeks ago, we were almost out of honey. I mentioned at dinner for everyone to go easy on the honey, as we were running low. I have since bought a new thing of honey and tonight at dinner, my 4 year old commented that we were "running high on honey tonight". I couldn't stop laughing and she had no idea why.

That was hilarious. When my oldest would look at our wedding album with people, she used to say she was there. When they'd say you were, she'd say "I was in my mommy's tummy". I have no idea where she got that, but she was definately NOT in my tummy!
