Joely experienced her first real head wound today when she hit her head against the corner of the wall near the water fountain at church earlier this afternoon. Not surprisingly, she screamed rather robustly.
When she calmed down a little bit, I examined her head for the bump that I was sure she must have, but at first I couldn't feel any; then I pulled my hand away and saw blood. That's when I became a little concerned.
A friend and I took her to the restroom and laid her down on the counter so we could rinse off her wound in the sink. After a minute, once the blood was washed away, we were able to determine that it was only a 1/2 inch laceration, and thankfully not a very deep one. As head wounds tend to do, it continued to bleed for a while; but like a trooper, Joely got right back into the thick of things without complaining much.
Poor baby!
