Garage Conversion: End of Day One

This is the status of the garage at the end of Day One:

  • the wall is framed and nailed in place (my husband corrected me—I should say the wall is both nailed and screwed in place!)
  • the "storage" side of the wall is sheetrocked and mudded

As I type, my husband is on his way to the airport to pick up my dad who will be helping us finish the garage. My parents are moving down close to us as soon as they sell their house (they currently live about 8 hours away), and they'll be staying in our converted garage when they move, while they are looking for a house. We still don't know exactly when they will be able to move, but I'm sure Jaden hopes it won't be too soon so that he has a chance to use the room for himself before my parents move in (*smile*).

  1. Good for you guys. My parents live about an hour from us and they lived with us for 18 months while their home was being built and all the stuff that goes with that..it was a great time for us and it really helped/blessed our family. Have fun!

Such fast work is amazing to me. I can't wait to get there. Hope Grandpa gets his share done so he can return to the farm. Still praying for the right buyers and the right house for us in Texas. Love ya'll. See I am trying to be more southern!
