Michelle at Beyond the Silver and the Gold linked to a wonderful home economics curriculum recently. Future Christian Homemakers has their entire home economics book available online as downloadable and printable pdfs.
I haven't looked through the curriculum thoroughly yet, but I'm so far very impressed by its thoroughness. It covers baking, cooking, cleaning, laundry, sewing, and other general homemaking-relating subjects, and not in a superficial manner at all. They've made it easy-to-read, yet they've included a lot of important details on each subject that are so important to know…and so easy to overlook. Looking through it I realized that it would even be a great idea for me to read through the book myself!
The lessons looks like they were originally set up to be used to teach a class, but it appears easily adaptable to a one-on-one homeschooling situation as well. I'm considering using this with Jerah next year and planning it out as daily or weekly lessons. I think she and I would both get a lot out of it. Actually, I think Jaden should go through the book as well, but probably not next year. It will be such a transition year for him that the few curveballs I throw him the better.
