A Little Random Link Love

Okay, maybe this isn't entirely random, but I happened upon a few links this week that I really wanted to share.

Did you know book owners have smarter kids?

There's a study out now that proves it! The study "…looked at samples from 27 nations, and according to its abstract, found that growing up in a household with 500 or more books is 'as great an advantage as having university-educated rather than unschooled parents, and twice the advantage of having a professional rather than an unskilled father.' Children with as few as 25 books in the family household completed on average two more years of schooling than children raised in homes without any books."

Is that vindication for my book-collecting obsession or what?

Science Bob

My girls introduced me to ScienceBob.com yesterday. With videos and lots of great experiments to try at home, this science exploration site definitely appeals to elementary-aged children. Here's an example of some of his video experiments.

Set up hyperlinked signatures in Gmail.

I own probably 15 different email addresses, and it's a real drag having to type out my full signature for each purpose. Blogging With Amy (in my opinion one of the best sites out there for newbie and veteran bloggers alike) offers several different suggestions for creating simple, hyperlinked signatures. Her tips have saved me so much time already!
