We joined Netflix a little while ago, and we've been enjoying watching movies together as a family on a regular basis since. The movies on the whole have been great, but the last 3 DVD's we've watched have been a cut above the rest.
If you haven't yet seen the BBC series Planet Earth, then you've been missing out. The series was really hyped up on tv ads, but the BBC truly delivered on its promise. Planet Earth is amazing! I've never before seen such incredible footage of animals and nature in my entire life.
If you can't swing the $60 for the 5-DVD set, then check your local library to see if they have it available. And if that doesn't work, then you might want to resort to asking the doting grandparents if they would purchase it as a gift for your kids. (You can honestly tell them it's "educational!")
This series would make a fantastic addition to your homeschooling library. It can be watched and rewatched for years to come!

My husband and I own this series and it's simply amazing! Getting it on HD or Bluray is sooo worth it to if you can. Seeing that stuff in high def is incredible!
